Brief about Municipality:
Constituted during 1965 as 3rd grade Municipality upgraded as 2nd grade Municipality during 1985 and upgraded 1st Grade Municipality during 1999.

In this Municipality weaving Agriculture is the main occupation. The size of the Municipality around 14.5 Sq Km. with 33 election wards and 18 Revenue wards. Consisting of 94956 population as per 2011 census. Around 24 Km away from Yemmiganur Mantralayam is the Pligrim Centre where Guru Raghavendra is worship.
