INTRODUCTION:
Wanaparthy is 3rd grade municipality in Mahabubnagar District having a population of 50,262 as per 2001 census and spread over 27,139 Sq.K.M. It is situated on latitude 23º 24' 26.67" and on longitude 78º 5' 33.33". Its altitude varies from (+) 385.00 Mtrs. To (+) 410.00 Mtrs over M.S.L. The average rainfall is 587 mm per Annum and maximum and minimum temperatures are about 44º and 15º respectively.
Wanaparthy was one of the oldest “Samsthanam”. It is having a place and a famous Temple of Lord Venkateshwara, Wanaparthy is the 3rd largest town in Mahabubnagar district, situated at 65 Kms away from the district head quarters and 150 Kms from state Capital. The Government have sanctioned an mount of Rs.30.00 Lakhs for construction of Municipal Office building.
